UL Baseball Stadium may Lose Russo Name after Superior Energy Demand
Oilfield service giant Superior Energy pushes UL Lafayette to remove the Russo name from its baseball stadium after a $72-million dollar previous judgment against two former executives at one of its Lafayette-based subsidiaries were alleged to have defrauded the company of up to tens of millions of dollars through self-dealing schemes.
The Houston-based public company sued Chris Russo and Marty LeBlanc, the ex-COO and CFO of Stabil Drill, and was favored in a December trial where the ex-executives were ordered to pay over 28-million dollars in damages and over 30-million dollars in profit in total.
According to the Current, when asked for a response the University told the company that they would contact them in the future to discuss their request. A phone call, however, has never been returned according to Superior Energy.
