UL Football Falls Out Of Top 40 Of Latest Power Index
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns fell a few notches in the latest ESPN College Football Power Index, which was released on Sunday.
One week after being listed in the top 40 for the first time all season, at #39, Louisiana dropped four spots, to #43, in this week's ESPN Power Index.
This marks only the second time in the last ten weeks that the Cajuns have not climbed or remained the same in the Power Index.
On the positive side, Louisiana continues to roll on the football field.
UL defeated South Alabama, 37-27, last Saturday, to improve to 8-2, overall, and 5-1 in Sun Belt Conference play.
The Cajuns, who have won 8 of their last 9 games, return to action on Saturday afternoon when they play host to the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference affair at Cajun Field.
The Power Index still projects Louisiana to win 10 games this season and ranks their remaining schedule as one of the easiest, listing it at #124 among 130 FBS schools.
Ohio St. is ranked atop the ESPN Power Index, with Clemson, Alabama, LSU, and Georgia.
Louisiana is the second-highest-rated school from the Sun Belt Conference, with only Appalachian St. ahead of them, at #39.
