The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are in the top 90 of ESPN's College Football Power Index after one week of play.

Louisiana checks in at #89 in this week's ESPN Power Index.

UL dropped their season opener on Saturday, falling to the Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 38-28, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

The Cajuns play their home opener this Saturday night at Cajun Field when they play host to the Liberty Flames, who is at #121 of the 130 FBS schools listed in the ESPN Power Index.

The Power Index projects Louisiana to win 7 games this season and ranks their remaining schedule as one of the easiest, ranking only Akron and Louisiana Tech lower.

Alabama is ranked atop the ESPN Power Index, with Clemson, LSU, Georgia, and Penn St. at 2-5, respectively.

Appalachian St., at #67, is listed as the highest-rated school from the Sun Belt Conference.
