We have been informed by a spokesperson from The University of Louisiana that they plan to honor the late Brad Wedlock this week.

Brad's family will receive his doctorate degree this Friday and the university plans to also present them with his hood, which all doctorate graduates receive.

The university also plans to honor Sheila Guidry this Friday. She too was a student at UL who was about to receive her doctorate degree, but has since passed away.

This isn't the first time UL honors students who have passed. The spokesperson from UL tells me that the university has often recognized those students who were about to graduate, but have died.

The summer commencement ceremonies will take place this Friday in the Cajundome Convention Center at 11am and the public is invited to attend.

Brad Wedlock, who once worked at TownSquare Media, was set to receive his doctorate degree in education, but was killed in an wreck in early April.

I think UL deserves a major applause for honoring these students who are no longer with us. Their families will forever be grateful.

Nice work, UL!!!
