Louisiana Ragin' Cajun pitcher Gunner Leger picked up a major preseason accolade on Monday.

A senior left-hander, Leger was named to the 2018 Collegiate Baseball preseason All-American team, as a second-team selection.

A third-team Collegiate Baseball All-American in 2017, Leger finished the season with a 10-2 record in 15 starts with a 1.97 ERA, while logging 84 strikeouts in just over 91 innings of work.

Those stats were good enough to earn the Lake Charles native Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year honors.

A two-time All-Sun Belt Conference first-team selection, as well as a one time second-team pick, Leger, a graduate of Barbe High School, is 23-10 with a 2.45 ERA over his UL career.

LSU pitcher Zack Hess and outfielder Zach Watson were also named to the 2018 Collegiate Baseball preseason All-American team, with Hess as a second-team selection and Watson on the third team.
