WALKER, La. (AP) — Walker Mayor Bobby Font says the sale of certain products commonly referred to as "fake pot" will be illegal within the town limits in the near future.

The Advocate reports the Board of Aldermen unanimously approved emergency action Monday to make sale of the substances illegal after being notified by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration that these products will be placed on a list of dangerous drugs.

The DEA says brands such as "Spice," ''K2," ''Blaze," and "Red X Dawn" are labeled as incense to mask their intended purpose.

Font said that the aldermen will be asked to formally introduce an ordinance halting the sale of the products at their January meeting and final adoption of the ordinance at the February meeting.
