A wedding is an event where all of the decisions belong to the bride and groom. It is also an event that everyone wants to give their opinion on. The wedding dress, the bridesmaid dresses, the flowers, the cake, and everything in between are judged. Judged by family, friends, guests, and even people you don’t know on social media.

A woman posted a photo of her wedding dress on social media and it has gone viral and sparked a lot of conversation with people saying it looks like lingerie. The woman wrote in her post, “I finally found one!” She also made sure to note that she didn’t blur out the woman’s face in the photo because it was taken from an ad for the bridal store. As you can see, the dress has a leotard-style top and a see-through skirt.

According to Yahoo, the dress was shared in the Facebook group “That’s It, I’m Wedding Dress Shaming” after many people confused the dress with lingerie. Naturally, in a Facebook group with that title, everyone is ready to pounce and give their opinions. Some of the comments include:

“When my phone was just at the top half I thought the dress was going to be beautiful! Then I scrolled down.”

"Honeymoon lingerie? This def cannot be an entire dress? And I bet it's also super expensive too."

"She wears it well, but this has to be the underpart, like there hasssss to be an attachment or something. I just can’t believe that this is the entire dress."

"That's for the after-party in the hotel room, right?"

"When you get married in the honeymoon suite."

"Please tell me this is meant to be an undergarment."

Although the majority of the comments were negative, some thought the dress was beautiful.

The dress is part of the Muse by Berta SS2021 collection and it’s called the Gigi. The website describes the dress as “full of awe, imagination, and romance.”

As I said, friends, family, especially the mother of the bride, oftentimes give their opinions on weddings. And you always have people judging your decisions and taste. But, the bottom line is, everyone is different.
