Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Houston Astros but the Top 5 in MLB on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The Houston Astros just dropped their second series of the season to the Texas Rangers this past weekend and wrapped up a 5-3 road trip.

Houston has gotten off to a 13-8 start and this week they've stayed pat in the weekly power rankings at 1st overall.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Houston Astros (13-9)-Steady at 1
  2. Tampa Bay Rays (14-8)-Steady at 2
  3. Los Angeles Dodgers (15-9)-Up three from 6
  4. Milwaukee Brewers (13-10)-Down one to 4
  5. Philadelphia Phillies (12-8)-Up four from 9

The Houston Astros will have a nice long homestand this week as they'll start off with three against the Minnesota Twins (12-7) throwing Brad Peacock vs. Jake Odorizzi, Wade Miley vs. Michael Pineda, and Justin Verlander vs. TBA. They'll then square off with the Cleveland Indians (12-9) for four games throwing Gerrit Cole vs. Corey Kluber, Colin McHugh vs. Trevor Bauer, Peacock vs. Shane Bieber, and Miley vs. Carlos Carrasco. That Indians series should be a damn good one with tons of solid pitching match-ups.

There was much movement around Major League Baseball from week two to week three. A couple of teams that made big leaps this week were those very same Indians we were just talking about as they jumped up from 14th to 7th. Also, the Chicago Cubs (10-10) have squared away their record and moved up from 16th to 10th.

On the other side of the coin, the Atlanta Braves (11-10) fell from 8th to 14th and the New York Mets (11-10) fell all the way from 4th to 11th in the weekly rankings.
