In Baton Rouge, a former Dow Chemical Company research scientist, 74-year-old Wen Chyu Liu, was convicted yesterday by a federal court jury of stealing trade secrets and then selling them to the Chinese for more than 500-thousand dollars.  He worked at the Dow plant in Plaquemine during the 80's and 90's before he retired from the company in 1992.  Jurors also found Liu guilty of perjury.  He faces up to 15-years in prison.  A sentencing date has not been set.
