UPDATE: Lafayette Boutique Has Items Returned Thanks to Help from Public
A local boutique is asking the community for help identifying an individual accused of stealing merchandise from its store. Wildflower Boutique, located at 500 Settlers Trace Blvd. Ste. 4 in Lafayette, has posted surveillance photos on social media showing a customer allegedly taking clothing without paying.
UPDATE:
According to Wildflower Boutique, the items have been returned. They issued the following message on their Facebook page.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The boutique shared the images with a heartfelt message:
“We wake up and work hard every day for the things that we provide to this store. And to have someone steal from us makes that hard work seem all for nothing! If anyone recognizes this lady, please reach out to us. I’m on my way to the store to get better footage.”
While the individual in question is innocent until proven guilty, Wildflower Boutique emphasizes that they have clear footage of the suspect taking items from the store. Their primary goal is to recover the stolen merchandise and resolve the issue amicably before considering legal action.
Several community members have already provided potential leads on the suspect’s identity. However, Wildflower Boutique hopes the responsible party will do the right thing and come forward voluntarily.
The boutique plans to provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, it urges anyone who recognizes the person in the surveillance footage to contact it directly.
