Royal Dutch Shell and Exxon/Mobile have announced they are evacuating drilling rigs in the southwestern areas of the Gulf in anticipation of Tropical Storm Don. AAA Fuel Analyst Don Redman says don't expect this precautionary move to have any impact on gas prices in the short term. Redman says there may be some localized fluctuations in the price of gas
depending on where the storm make landfall.

Redman says the global economy has had a much bigger impact on gas prices than the weather. He says the debt crisis here, and in Europe, is keeping the price of crude oil at an inflated level.
