Local Woman Faked Finding Razor Blades In Her Fast Food
A Louisiana woman has been arrested after she made false claims of finding razor blades in her food.
According to WAFB, Correill Bradley has been charged with criminal mischief, theft, and other pending charges after the Eunice Police Department were able to determine she made false claims surrounding a mouth injury she claimed to get from a "foreign object" inside her food at a major fast food chain restaurant.
Bradley, who went to the hospital back on May 15, said she went through the drive-thru, purchased a sandwich, and when she bit into it, she felt a "strange object in her food and pain to her mouth."
WAFB reports that upon arriving home Bradley said she found a razor blade in her food. Police stated that Bradley didn't want to "get anyone in trouble" so initially, she didn't file a police report. Eventually, she did file a report but "wouldn't write a statement.
From an early point in the investigation, things weren't adding up for police.
Officers say they believed Bradley’s injuries were not consistent with biting into an object and instead appeared to be self-inflicted. They also say the razor blade appeared new and “showed no signs of being mixed into any contents of the sandwich.”
Upon further investigation, police were able to track down surveillance footage of Bradley going into a local store and stealing a pack of razor blades right before she bought the sandwich.
It was also reported that Bradley filed a claim with the restaurant's insurance as well as reaching out to a personal injury attorney all on the same day the alleged incident. After police determined her claims were bogus she was arrested.
The investigation is ongoing. Follow this WAFB story for updates.
