43 year old Tammy Romero of Youngsville was sentenced to no more than five years in prison and a fine of no more than $5,000 in the death of Victor Wirtz. According to our news partners at KATC Romero was originally booked for second degree murder for shooting and killing Wirtz in 2012.

A grand jury indicted Romero for manslaughter in 2012 and she later filed a lawsuit against the Youngsville Police Department claiming that police did not do enough to protect from the abuse she suffered at the hands of Wirtz.
