Louisiana folks take food very seriously. We center entire gatherings around home-cooked meals, whether we are in mourning or celebrating a holiday.
To be completely honest, we don't really need a reason; we will find an excuse to have people over to share a meal and catch up.
There isn't much Louisianians won't eat, but we have to draw the line somewhere, right?
There isn't much Louisianians won't eat; we boil mudbugs, char grill oysters, and fry gators. Don't even get me started on the questionable wild game I have seen people serve at cookouts.
So, something tells me that a list of forbidden foods won't deter all Louisiana folks from trying some of these 'food' items on the list below if ever granted the opportunity.
Personally, just looking at some of these things, banned or not, you won't catch me anywhere near them.
