9-Year-Old Boy Pleads for Family, Receives 5,000 Applications
I watched an interview after it went viral and I've never wanted to be "just a mom" more than ever before. A 9-year-old boy from Oklahoma named Jordan is well on his way to his permanent home with a mom and dad of his own. Fox59 interviewed Jordan and he said, "I would just like to have a family to call mom and dad, or just mom, or just dad,". Maybe it was his cute demeanor or his plead for just a parent, but, it worked!
Jordan has captured the hearts of people all over the country after he used an interview with a local news station to put himself out there. Originally it was an interview about Jordan being in foster care, but the Oklahoma boy did not waste any time telling the nation that he really wanted a permanent family.
Jordan was asked several questions in the interview and one broke my heart in particular, when he was asked what he would wish for if he was given 3 wishes he didn't hesitate he quickly answered, “To have a family, and family, family. Those are the only wishes I have,” he added, “I hope one of y’all pick me.”
Jordan has been in foster care for over 6 years, and now, he has over 5,000 adoption submissions according to People.com. Jordan's Permanency Planning worker said they are working around the clock to find Jordan's family, at this rate Jordan may have a Mom and Dad by Christmas!
