Washington, DC – US Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr. (R-Southwest Louisiana) today urged immediate action on the spending cuts voted on by the House of Representatives as the Senate followed the lead of House Republicans to approve a two-week continuing resolution.

“Four billion dollars in spending cuts is far short of what the American people demand,” Boustany said, reiterating his commitment to cutting government spending. “I will work with my colleagues to move forward on the cuts the House approved in one of the most open and transparent debates. Our economy cannot survive the out-of-control spending binge by this Administration. It is time to make the tough choices and the difficult votes, and I am ready to stand up and do what is right for our country and for the people of Louisiana.”
