Brian Pope & Kip Judice Advance To Runoff In Lafayette City-Marshal’s Race
Longtime incumbent Earl "Nicky" Picard (D) has not made the runoff in the race for Lafayette City-Marshal.
Brian Pope (R), a former employee in the Marshal's Office, and Kip Judice (N), former Public Information Officer for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, have advanced out of the primary round.
Pope was the leading vote-getter in the race, garnering 36.90%. Judice finished in second with 28.58%, which was less than 2,000 votes more than Picard, who first began serving as Lafayette City-Marshal in 1984.
Joseph B. Cormier (D) finished in last place, with just over 10% of the vote.
