NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A broken water pipe flooded some electrical equipment and caused a delay in departure for a cruise ship slated to leave New Orleans.

Royal Caribbean International said Saturday it happened on the Serenade of the Seas.

The cruise line said the ship's critical systems, including navigation, were operational. But some areas — including the main theater and medical facility — were without power.

The company said some state rooms were affected and an unspecified number of guests' reservations were canceled. They will get a full refund and a certificate good for a future cruise.

Meanwhile, the company said workers were restoring power to affected areas and the U.S. Coast Guard was inspecting the ship Saturday evening.

It was uncertain when the ship would receive clearance to leave New Orleans.
