Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Monday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad travels to Boone, North Carolina to take on the Appalachian St. Mountaineers in a Sun Belt Conference tilt.

Tip-off time is scheduled for approximately 6:30 pm, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6 o'clock.

The game will mark the back-end of a day/night women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL women taking on Appalachian St. at 4 pm.

Louisiana, who is coming off of a 91-64 home win over Troy in their conference home opener on Saturday night, is 8-5 on the season, and 2-0 in league play, while Appalachian St., who defeated Arkansas St., 74-73, on Saturday evening, will bring in an overall record of 4-6, and a league mark of 1-0.

The Cajuns are outscoring by the opposition, 82.7/70.1, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 49.9%/40.7%, and holding down a 40.3/34.3 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by junior forward Shawn Long, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 15.1 ppg, and 8.3 rpg, respectively, and senior forward Brian Williams, who is averaging 12.7 points, to go along with 4.5 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana is looking to improve to 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference play for the first time since the 2007-08 season.

The Mountaineers are being outscored by the opposition, 69.6/63.2, as well as being out-shot by foes from the field, 44.0%/40.8%, while holding down a 35.6/34.6 rebounding advantage.

Appalachian St. is paced by junior guard Frank Eaves, who is averaging 16.6 points and 3.4 rebounds-per-game, along with senior forward Tommy Spagnolo, who is averaging 11.1 points, along with 7.7 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana leads all-time series, 2-0, with the last meeting all the way back in 1990.
