Today on 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' Chef Pat Mould joined us to remind our audience that the Delcambre Seafood and Farmer's Market is in the final stages for the delayed grand opening.  According to Chef Mould,

The Grand Opening got rained out a couple of weeks ago so the Grand Opening will happen next Saturday June 1.  That will be the final market for the spring with a break for the hot summer months.  The market will re-open on September 21 when cooler weather sets in.

In addition Chef Mould said,

This coming Thursday there will be a flash 'mini-market'.  This is part of the Resilience of Delcambre press tour...They're inviting members of the press to come out Thursday to see what it's all about and I'll be doing some cooking demonstrations featuring Vermilion Bay Sweets which is another success story when it comes to Delcambre.  It's shrimp that are caught, landed and processed at the Port of Delcambre.  It's the first product to receive the designation as a Louisiana Certified Seafood product.  Vermilion Bay Sweet shrimp don't contain sodium tripolyphosphate which is used by seafood processors to retain moisture.

Chef Mould noted the flash 'mini market' will have 20 vendors which is the number of vendors from the first 'soft' opening when nearly 2,000 shoppers descended on Delcambre.  For the Grand Opening on June 1st the market will feature 85 vendors.
