Christmas Arrives Downtown With Miracle Pop-Up Bar

Christmas has come to Downtown Lafayette with Miracle at Pamplona!

Miracle at Pamplona is just one of the several Christmas Pop-Up Bars that happens in larger cities across the country.

Christmassy? Yes. Festive? Definitely. Kitschy? It's almost like Christmas threw up all over the place, in the best way possible!

Being on the "Bah, Humbug" side of most major holidays, I'll have to say that I no longer even noticed, much less fretted about, the ugly Christmas sweater I was forced to wear for the night. Pamplona, as part of the Miracle Pop-Up experience, has Christmas decorations EVERYWHERE. Walls, ceilings, floor, hanging from the lights, around the bar, Santa hats on each chair, tables lined with Christmas wrapping paper, even the cocktail glasses; there's so much Christmas at Pamplona it would make the Griswolds feel like underachievers.

Coupled with the wonderful fare at Pamplona, the night really was almost perfect - the food, the friends, the drinks, the snow (did I mention that there was "snow" falling outside?), it really is a fun, festive, delicious experience.

I did say "almost perfect": my special +1 couldn't make it that night, so we have reservations for next week.

By the way, reservations are recommended, as it seems to be THE place to be this holiday season.

And wear an ugly Christmas sweater. No one will even notice.
