Hub City gastrophiles may have let out a collective sigh of disappointment as two popular eateries are closing their doors.

The popular Copeland's of New Orleans is closing its restaurant on Ambassador Caffery Parkway, says a Townsquare Media source.

The New Orleans-styled cuisine was served to Lafayette crowds at two locations on Ambassador for decades.

The Copeland's corporation has already removed the Lafayette location--and menu--from its Web site.

Although the location will be closed to the traditional Copeland's dining experience, signs at the shuttered restaurant notify customers that "Copeland's Take-Out" will be offered at the same location.

Also shutting down is 2Paul's Radically Urban Barbeque.

On the restaurant's Facebook Page, 2Paul's management cited the local economy and the August floods as leading to their closing.

So sorry to be saying goodbye. So many wonderful employees with us for so many years, all. To them I say: thank you so much for your total investment, for how you loved us and your job. For how you let us love you.-- From 2 Paul's Radically Urban BBQ via Facebook.

The contemporary casual-dining BBQ restaurant served customers from its Johnston Street location and via mobile catering for eight years.
