COVINGTON, La. (AP) — A public auction to sell dozens of surplus items owned by Covington municipal government will be held Feb. 6 as the St. Tammany Parish city tries to sell unneeded police cars, pickup trucks, office equipment and other items.

The Times-Picayune reports items up for bid include five Chevrolet Impala police cars, whose estimated values range from $4,330 and $6,820. Minimum bids are $1,500 to $2,000.

Other items to be auctioned include malfunctioning computer equipment, outdated or damaged radio parts, ink cartridges, and other office supplies.

The auction will take place at 10 a.m. at ServCorp International Inc., 101 Magnolia St. in Slidell. Prospective bidders an inspect items from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 5 at the Magnolia Street location.
