Did You Know You Can Take These Foods On a Plane?
I am always very nervous getting on a plane these days. The list of TSA Approved Items seems to change quite frequently, and I don't want to be the one who gets arrested for having a ChapStick in my purse that's not in a damn ziploc bag. So, I was very happy to see that Food Network is giving us a list of approved food items that you can actually carry on board. Yay! Check them out below, and happy flying, friends.
- Pizza. Yes, even a whole pie
- Fresh meat and seafood. If it's packed in ice, the ice has to be completely frozen, or it won't get through. You can also bring 5 lbs of dry ice on, but it has to be properly vented and labeled.
- Ice Cream. But only as long as it's frozen solid. Good luck with that.
- Fresh fruit and vegetables. But only if you are not flying from Hawaii, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands to the mainland U.S. Also, dressing has to be 3.4 ounces or less.
- Peanut Butter. This is considered a liquid, so it has to be in the approved quart sized bag.
- Alcohol. But only if it's less than 70-percent alcohol and in 3.4-ounce containers. Minis can go on, but sadly, cannot be drunk on the plane.
- Canned Food. But technically, it's up to the individual TSA Agent on what ultimately goes through. So maybe leave that can of tuna at home #justsayin
- Eggs. You can bring 2 cartons on board. Why, oh why, would you do that??
- Live Lobster. As long as it's in a clear, spill-proof, plastic container, but just to be safe, I would call your airline beforehand to make sure.
