Eight Year Old Shows Us All How It Should Be Done

A little boy just celebrated his eight birthday, but he really did in style.  Now, the Owasso, Oklahoma "Toys For Tots" program will be able to help hundreds of children this year.

Chase Branscum decided to donate any birthday gifts he got to the charity.  This is a nice opinion piece to do because it reminds us all of the what the Christmas season is all about.  Branscum said, “I already have toys and other kids don’t”.

Tiffany Rowe, Branscum's mom says she is so proud of her son.  They held his birthday party at a church this past Sunday, and more than 100 people showed up.  They were able to collect 500 toys for the program.

I remember being eight, but I sure don't remember being as giving as this kid.  What kid ever does something as great at this?  His friends who came to his party all said they had a really great time, and they were glad that they could help other kids who "never have had a Christmas".

I like being able to donate to charities of my choosing, and I hope others will think about what Chase has done.  They may be motivated to give even a little bit more this year.  I know it's making me think a lot harder about it.  We always have such rough news stories to talk about, but today, pass this one on to others, so that they to can get the "Christmas spirit".
