Evangeline Parish schools superintendent Darwan Lazard will remain on the job for at least another two years.

The school board approved a two-year extension of Lazard's contract at its meeting last Wednesday. According to school board member Scott Limoges, the terms of Lazard's contract, including his salary, will remain the same during the next two years.

According to the Ville Platte Gazette, Lazard thanked the board after their vote.

“I really appreciate it for you to have selected me unanimously and, then tonight, to renew my contract unanimously,” Lazard told the board. “It is certainly noted by me, and I greatly appreciate it.”
