A newly-installed pedestrian bridge at Florida International University has collapsed, causing several fatalities to reported and leaving several vehicles trapped underneath the wreckage.

According to Fox News, 6 people with injuries have been rescued. No number of fatalities have been reported.

The $9.3 million bridge, which sought to link the university's campus, was projected to be finished in early 2019. It was installed on Saturday and has been billed as a "one-of-its-kind pedestrian bridge" that "swings" into place.
