Fire Guts Two Homes

An early morning fire has left more than a dozen people homeless today.

Two families are homeless today after an early morning fire on Champagne Street. Firefighters determined the blaze at 171 Champagne was accidental in nature, but now the people who lived there are without a home and so are their neighbors. The fire burned the hands of one girl and a firefighter was injuried slightly while battling the blaze. The fire started near the hot water heater in the kitchen.
