Former four-time Governor Edwin Edwards will be released from Oakdale Prison to a halfway house sometime in January.  A shroud of secrecy surrounds the date of his release and where he will live when he is released. After serving eight years in prison former Governor Edwin Edwards will be released to a halfway house sometime this month. Edwin Edwards biographer Leo Honeycutt says that no one knows the exact date for Edwards release. Where the former Governor will be staying is almost as big a mystery as is release date. Honeycutt says the location will most likely be somewhere close to home. Honeycutt says we shouldn't expect any interviews or speaking engagements from the former Governor any time soon.
