Former Lead Investigator Of Keiosha Felix Case Fired, Responds With Text Messages
DUSON, La. (KPEL) -- Lt. Gerald Credeur, the one-time lead investigator on the case of missing 15-year-old Keiosha Felix who was suspended from the Duson Police Department last month, has been terminated from his position.
The Duson Town Council voted 3-2 Tuesday night to fire Credeur. Duson Police Chief Frank Andrew addressed the council, saying Credeur violated the constitutional rights of at least two people, though he wasn't clear on who those people were or on what rights were violated.
Credeur's attorney immediately fired back, unveiling a string of text messages purported to be between Andrew and Credeur.
Those text messages, which were obtained by our news partners at KATC TV-3, suggest Duson police believed they may have been involved in a human trafficking case versus a missing persons case.
"We may be dealing with a human [trafficking] case, we may have [stepped] into something more than a runaway," Andrew allegedly texts to Credeur.
Also highlighted is Andrew's to talk to the media. Oftentimes, calls to Andrew for comment would go ignored or unreturned.
Credeur: "Why the (expletive) is tv 3 still calling me..I'm not answering...you give [all] media details..lol."
Andrew: "I talk to them..Just got off the [phone], with them."
Credeur: "Cool thanks...you the man."
The organizers behind the Facebook group Find Keiosha Felix Now responded Wednesday morning, saying,
It is [sad] that people who have nothing to hide, hide nothing. It was quite evident that more will be revealed and that in actuality, Lt. Creduer wasn't the one hiding anything. I would imagine that we will be hearing more about this corrupt dept. in the near future. In the meantime, we will keep Lt. Creduer lifted up in prayer.
