Greedy Williams Not Playing in Bowl Game, Gets Support From Teammate
It was a terrific season for the LSU Tigers football team as they went 9-3 and have a chance to win ten games in a season for the first time since 2013. They finished ranked 11th in the country and they'll take on the University of Central Florida Golden Knights New Year's Day at noon in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl.
There has been a lot of talk recently regarding the decision that was made by LSU cornerback Greedy Williams who declared for the NFL Draft and will not play in the Fiesta Bowl as he announced earlier this week. This is why he's not playing:
He's got a daughter, Khloe who is less than two years old and he feels the responsibility to provide the best life possible for her. He'll do that by not risking his health playing in the Fiesta Bowl as he's projected to be a top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
A lot of pundits have gotten on Greedy for being greedy and not playing with his teammates one last time. However, one of his teammates and one of the most popular Tigers Devin White came to his defense (pun intended) via Twitter this week:
Great stuff by one of the leaders of this team, this response should tell you that all the Tigers understand Greedy's situation and support his decision. To me, it's really a no-brainer.
