According to US Attorney Stephanie Finley 49 year old Ajay Jawahar of India pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of fraud and misuse of visas, permits and other documents. Evidence presented indicated that Jawahar presented the Office of Motor Vehicles in Shreveport with five I-29's which is a petition for a non-immigrant worker to stay in the United States. Three of the I-29's were altered by changing the dates on them to show Jawahar was in the US legally.

Jawahar faces not more than 10 years in prison, three years supervised release and a $250,000 fine. He can also be deported after the sentence is served.
