Iberia Bank On Johnston Street Robbed Today

At 3:30 yesterday (Tuesday 12/2) the Iberia Bank Branch in the Alberston Shopping Center on Johnston Street was robbed. Employees say the suspect was carrying a bag, covering his face with a white cloth and demanded money from a clerk. At that time he displayed a handgun in his waistband. The teller gave him an undetermined amount of cash and he fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black man wearing a black sweat shirt, a black Saints beanie hat and bandages on his hand. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
