Boogie, 38, whose real name is Alex Troegel, performed his take on the 1994 Joe Diffie tune, "Pickup Man." The Mansfield native who now lives in Geismar was plucked by judge Reba McEntire after his blind audition on NBC's "The Voice" on Monday night.

McEntire was the only judge who turned her chair during the song, Reba indicated that she wanted Boogie on her team going forward in the reality singing competition series' 24th season. Of course, this is the first season for the Country Music legend after she took over for long-time judge Blake Shelton.

Season 24 marks a shot at redemption on the show for Al Boogie. The Louisiana native failed to make it past the Blind Audition stage at the start of last season (Season 23). He made the most of his second chance, he nearly won over Coaches Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani. However, both Coaches decided against competing with McEntire on her own country-music turf.

Over the course of the season, McEntire will work with Boogie on finding and perfecting his own country style so that the pair have a chance at claiming the crown for their team. The Voice airs on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 PM ET on NBC.
