Gulf Coast Landmark Hotel Honored with Unique Candle Scent

It's one of the South's most iconic hotels. And it's been a favorite destination for Louisiana travelers for a little over 176 years. It's The Grand Hotel Golf Resort and Spa in Point Clear Alabama and it has been recently announced that this tiny slice of heaven located on the eastern shores of Mobile Bay will be immortalized in a most unique way.

If you've had the chance to visit The Grand Hotel you can feel the history the moment you step into the lobby. You'll also notice something very unique about the historic facilities lobby too. It has a very unique fragrance. And now, that fragrance has been captured for guests who want to take the scent home with them in the form of a candle.

The candle's fragrance is reported to be a combination of white tea, fig tree, and other essential oils and is being produced by Monet Candle Company of nearby Foley Alabama. The Grand Hotel's gift shop already carries a nice selection of Monet Candles but the principles in the business say they were honored by the request to recreate the iconic scent of The Grand Hotel.

The candle featuring the scent of the Grand Hotel's Lobby has been available for guests to purchase since mid-April. The Monet Candle Company also has its products in other stores, in fact, some 300 different retail locations offer their candles, bath bombs, soaps, lotions, sprays, and more.

Perhaps if you or someone in your family has fond memories of a weekend golf outing or spa getaway at the Grand Hotel this might make a great gift for them. And, if you've never visited The Grand Hotel, it is certainly worth a look. Whether you stay the night or not, a stroll around the grounds is like a step back in time.

The grounds and pathways are shaded by large oak trees, the air is filled with the fragrance of fresh flowers, and there always seems to be a breeze blowing off of Mobile Bay which makes even the hottest summer days seem a bit more tolerable.
