(KMDL-FM) - A popular brand of potato chips sold across several southern states, including Louisiana, is being recalled because it may contain an undeclared milk allergen.

Which Chips Are Being Recalled

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Frito-Lay has issued a recall for select 8-ounce bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chips. The company says some bags may contain jalapeño-flavored chips that include milk, which is not listed on the label.

Why the Chips Are Being Recalled

The undeclared ingredient poses a potential health risk for people with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity, who could experience a serious or life-threatening reaction if the chips are consumed. The chips are considered safe for people without a dairy allergy.

Where the Recalled Chips Were Sold

The recalled chips may have been distributed as early as January 15, 2026, and were sold at grocery stores, convenience stores, drug stores, and through online retailers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

The recall applies only to 8-ounce bags with a “Guaranteed Fresh” date of April 21, 2026, and the following manufacturing codes: 38U301414 or 48U101514. No other Miss Vickie’s flavors, sizes, or variety pack products are included in the recall.

How the Recall Was Discovered

Frito-Lay says the issue was discovered after a consumer contacted the company. So far, no allergic reactions related to the product have been reported.

What Consumers Should Do If They Have the Chips

Consumers who have a milk allergy or sensitivity are advised not to eat the chips and to discard the product. Anyone with questions can contact Frito-Lay customer service at 1-877-984-2543.
