Reese’s That’s Good For You? When’s That Coming to Louisiana?

If I mention the word Reese's to you what comes to mind? I know at least one person in Lafayette that will mispronounce the word and call it Ree Seas, instead of what it's supposed to be called. The rest of us will probably just think about Halloween and others will use this narrative as a moment to contemplate what's in the office vending machine.

We do love our Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. We also like Reese's that are shaped like other things most notably Easter Eggs, Christmas Trees, and blogs of melted chocolate for those who forgot and left their Reese's in a hot Louisiana car. Oddly enough, no one has brought up the fact that Reese's are good for you. That's probably because they aren't really.

But there is a new Reese's or should we say Reese's-like protein bar that could be showing up at a gym or kickboxing place near you. The Hershey-owned brand ONE is releasing its first ever-protein-packed Reese's Cup. It's the Reese's you love packed with 18 grams of protein and only three grams of sugar.

As you might imagine that "cup" runneth over with peanut butter goodness. The inside of it is that famous Reese's peanut butter and the outside features an incredible peanut butter taste too.

Now, if you want a little chocolate flavor you might want to consider another protein-packed option the folks at ONE are offering along with Hershey. It's the Cookies 'n' Creme flavored protein bar. It too offers 18 grams of protein and only 3 grams of sugar.

The newly released protein bars mark the first time that the Hershey Company has brought its classic candies to the protein bar wars. Many feel this was done in response to Mars, Hershey's largest competitor, rolling out a Snickers influence protein bar last year.

You should be able to find all of these protein bars on the shelves of your favorite grocery stores and health food suppliers. If not, they are available online.  Who knew they could pack so much protein into a candy bar? I sure didn't but that's what I'm telling people when they see me eating them.
