A St. Mary Parish deputy arrested a Jeanerette man after he found him lying half way in and half way out of his truck on Grey Eagle Street.

The deputy found 25-year-old Craig Barrett partially laying facedown on the front seat of his truck.

When the deputy started to talk to him, that's when it's alleged to have cursed and threatened the deputy.

That's when the deputy says that Barrett grabbed his badge, and he tried to rip it off his shirt.

Barrett is alleged to have shoved the deputy.

The deputy arrested Barret for for battery of a police officer, disturbing the peace (public intoxication), and resisting an officer.

The man was released after posting a $2,500 bond.
