It's a gimmick, and doesn't mean much, but the first official election of the 2020 Presidential race has been decided.

Just after midnight, the residents of Dixville Notch, NH cast their ballots for the 2020 Presidential Election. Its just a symbolic vote from the handful of residents, but the residents all made their voices heard with a lot of attention from across the country...

Now again, this result doesn't mean anything at all. In 2016 the voters of Dixville Notch picked Hillary Clinton, but the margin was a little different 4 years ago. Late last night, Joe Biden swept the votes in Dixville Notch, 5-0. Back in 2016, Hillary Clinton won 4 votes, Donald Trump got 2 votes, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson got 1 vote, and there was a write-in vote for Mitt Romney.

Potentially the biggest news out of Dixville Notch came from voter Les Otten. He was the first man to cast his vote last night, and the former Republican Candidate for Governor in Maine, and cast his vote for Joe Biden. Otten wrote an op-ed for Newsweek about his vote, and was featured in a video about his vote...

Dixville Notch doesn't always predict the correct winner in the Presidential race, much like last year. But they did get it right every year before that dating back to 1996. That year, Dixville picked Bob Dole over Bill Clinton, and Clinton went on to win. The election before that, Bill Clinton was dead last in Dixville, getting beat by George H. W. Bush, Ross Perot, and Andre Marrou, even though Clinton won.
