Today on 'Mornings With Ken & Bernie' Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel said the ongoing dispute between Broussard and Lafayette continues and it's up to the City of Broussard to decide whether or not it wants to continue to receive services from Lafayette.

Durel said,

"If they are willing to become good neighbors and develop a good working relationship we're happy to continue to help them grow.  They are what they are today because of services we have been able to provide to them."

On the subject of the UL Horse Farm purchase Durel said from all indications the sale would be completed soon.  From the beginning of negotiations Durel had asked the Community Foundation of Acadiana to assume control of the farm.  He felt it would be appropriate for the Foundation to raise money to maintain the property in perpetuity.
