Lafayette Drug Trafficker Arrested On Numerous Charges
An accused drug trafficker from Lafayette was arrested after trying to escape from drug agents who had stopped him on Interstate 10.
Lafayette Police Officer spokesman Karl Ratcliffe says 33-year-old Joshua Willis was able to escape officers on I-10 before being taken into custody on Madeline Street in Lafayette. Agents say he was wanted for a narcotics parole violation out of Texas and was allegedly in possession of 39,732 ml of Promethazine syrup (estimated street value of $397,320.00) that was contained in 7 Morton Grove PH, Inc. pharmaceutical boxes.
Willis was arrested on drug trafficking charges that include:
- Possession with intent to distribute Schedule 5 CDS
- Possession of Marijuana
- Parole violation warrant for distribution of Cocaine out of Austin, TX

- Aggravated Flight from an Officer
- Resisting Arrest
