“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which airs from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, gives Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about!

On Sunday’s show, Tiffiany Decou, “The Lafayette Food Junkie,” and Chef Zach Doise discussed issues pertaining to restaurants/food trucks, such as:

  • Patrons rushing to go on opening night and then complaining about wait times
  • Servers knowing the menus
  • The future of food trucks in Lafayette

When it came to the future of food trucks in the Hub City, they talked about how many food trucks are beginning to move from Lafayette to New Iberia because of certain ordinances. With the recent closure of Pelon's, Chef Zack also pointed out that he believes people tend to talk a big game when it comes to supporting local, but in reality he wonders if that is really true.

Tiffiany and Chef Zack also discussed how recent changes with facebook have negatively affected food trucks, and how the weather in the Hub City hurts their business.

With all of that being said, Tiffiany is optimistic that it is not the end of food trucks in Lafayette, while Chef Zack feels the future is uncertain.
