Sisters Sell Lemonade To Clear Classmates’ School Lunch Debt
Two North Carolina girls are paying it forward and making sure some of their classmates aren't hit with a past-due school lunch bill before summer. Hailey and Hannah Hager have opened a lemonade stand to help offset more than $3,000 in school lunch debt at their elementary school in North Carolina.
The exact number is $3,100 and one family alone owes $800 according to one parent. The lemonade stand opened last week and the sisters even had a hot dog sale on Saturday to go with the lemonade. According to their Facebook page, the girls have raised more than $900 just in online donations.

Issues with school lunch payments have shown up in headlines across the country as students wrap up the 2018-2019 school year. The girls say they hope to clear $40,000 in debts owed across their school district.
