A Baton Rouge man is wanted by police on two separate warrants after he allegedly posed as an attorney and took money from people seeking representation.

WAFB reports that Robb Kirk Sharper is wanted by police after several people reported he took money from them while posing as someone who practices law in the state of Louisiana. The news station reports that Sharper has an extensive criminal record including bank fraud and identity theft.

The warrants issued by the Baton Rouge Pollice Department claim that the suspect posed as an attorney on several occasions, and took as much as $8,000 from one individual.

The WAFB I-TEAM also reports that someone also paid Sharper $700 to put an engine into their vehicle and they too were scammed. The person who spoke to the Baton Rouge news station says Sharper comes across as very genuine and convincing, thus victims are letting their guard down and that is when he takes advantage of their situation.

WAFB did contact the suspect wanted by police last week about the allegations brought forth, but the line went dead once the station identified who they were.

Sharper is wanted on multiple charges of felony theft and the Baton Rouge Police Department is attempting to locate and contact him.

Here's the investigative report from WAFB.
