Louisiana Native Ed Reed Prepares to Enter NFL Hall of Fame
Saint Rose, Louisiana is a small town on the outskirts of New Orleans. The population of the town is less than 7,000 people. It is a high crime and poverty area. But one man from St. Rose has made a major impact on the sports world. NFL legend and soon to be Hall of Famer Ed Reed is from St. Rose.
Recently, Ed returned home for a visit ahead of his induction into the NFL Hall of Fame. In fact, the trip home was documented by the NFL. Ed visits his old neighborhood, talks about the problems he faced growing up, the death of his brother, crime, how football saved his life and a whole lot more. You can watch the inspiring video below:
Reed retired as a Super Bowl Champion, 9 time Pro-Bowler, 5 time first team All-Pro, 3 time season Interception leader and an NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Reed also holds 2 NFL Records: the longest interception return in a game (107 yards) and most career interception yards (1,590 yards). Ed Reed is widely considered the greatest Safety to ever play the game. He will be inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday night.
