South Louisiana Road and Bridge Closures Announced for May
Lafayette, LA (KPEL News) - Road closures because of work can be a headache, but they are certainly a necessary evil in Louisiana. From Lafayette to Jennings, and from Opelousas to Kaplan, state roads require maintenance and, in some cases, a full overhaul. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) proactively notifies the public about when closure will take place so drivers can plan accordingly.
Several lane or road closures are scheduled in the month of May that you should be aware of. Most of them will happen during after-work hours, so not as many people will be affected. However, if you work late or need to get to work early, take note that you may experience delays.
Detour routes, where necessary, will be posted during the closure periods.
