If you're like me, you may be asking yourself "Uh, what the heck is a love language?" Well, I just found out what it is, and it just might be something that can make your relationship better than ever.

When it comes to letting your significant other know just how much you love and care about them, there are many ways you can go about doing that. Clearly, you can just tell them with your words. Instead of verbally expressing love, many people physically express feelings by doing things through "acts of service" like cooking, cleaning, honey dos and more.

According to a book written by Gary Chapman, there are actually five different ways people express their feelings to the ones they care about, and knowing what they are is a hugely important key to happy, healthy marriages and relationships.

In Chapman's book "The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate", he breaks down the five love languages as -

(The listing is not a ranking)

1. Quality Time
2. Physical Touch
3. Words of Affirmation
4. Acts of Service
5. Receiving Gifts

For example, let's say you're someone who gives your significant other gifts to show how much you love them, but they are the type of person who rarely gives you gifts, but instead expresses their love through words. Neither act is better than the other, but not realizing that the two of you speak different "Love Languages" could make you feel as if your partner doesn't love you as much as you love them.

"One of the best ways to ensure you and your partner both feel loved on a regular basis is to understand and work within both of your love languages."

So, what about Louisiana? What "Love Language" do most Louisianans speak?

According to the study conducted by shaneco.com, Louisiana's "Love Language" is "Words of Affirmation" meaning, more often than not, we use our words to let someone know how much we care about them.

Below is the map showing each state's "Love Language". You can read much more about this survey over at shaneco.com.
