State police say that just before 9 a.m. Sunday, troopers in Hammond pulled over a sports utility vehicle that was impeding traffic. WWL-TV reported Monday that troopers received permission to search the vehicle and during the search found about 1.3 pounds of marijuana inside.

The suspects, 27-year-old Brian Freeman of Tupelo, Miss., 21-year-old Brandon Baker of San Antonio; and Bradley Goree of Verona, Miss., were each booked with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The child was turned over to the Office of Community Services.
