A passenger in a car on Highway 182 early this morning hit the brake, and then hit the female driver in the face.

Deputies say that 24-year-old Trevor Kober of Morgan City slammed on the brake, hit the woman, then got out the car taking a bunch of the woman’s things with him.

When deputies got there, they found Kober hiding in some bushes near Zenor Drive in the Patterson area.

The police say the two were arguing during the ride until Kober hit the brake, making the woman pull over.  When he hit her, he damaged her glasses.

Police say they found Kober to be slurring his speech, and he smelled like alcohol.

They found an open container of alcohol, so he was arrested on the following charges:

  • Simple battery
  • Simple criminal damage to property
  • Theft
  • Possession of open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle
  • Interfering with driver or vehicle control
  • Criminal trespass

His bond is set at $4,000.
