Motorcycle Crash Claims Life Of New Iberia Man

26-year-old Dustin Richard of New Iberia is dead after crashing his motorcycle overnight. Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office says it happened shortly before 1:00 am Tuesday morning on Doyle Melancon near the 2500 block of Breaux Bridge High School Road. Investigators say excessive speed appeared to be a factor in the crash.
